The company was founded in 2003 with a focus to provide the best possible historical weather and climate services to companies that may be exposed to significant weather impacts. To accomplish this mission, Red Sky has assembled a team consisting of seasoned, highly qualified and experienced U.S. Navy and private sector Meteorologists, Physical Oceanographers and Environmental Scientists to serve as Consulting Meteorologists and Advisors.
Mr. Joe Veneziano
Red Sky was founded by Mr. Joe Veneziano, a retired Naval Officer and 21 year veteran. Joe started his naval career as an enlisted sailor in the Submarine Force, then worked his way up the ladder to a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, specializing as a Meteorologist and Physical Oceanographer with technical expertise in long range weather forecasting, hurricane forecasting, and weather oriented vessel routing.
Joe honed his meteorological and oceanographic expertise by taking on challenging operational assignments from Micronesia to London, even serving for a tour as a U.S. Foreign Exchange Officer with the British Royal Navy. He ended his military career in Norfolk, wherein he started Red Sky Weather Service.
Joe holds a Master of Science in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.

Dr. Steven Businger, Ph.D., C.C.M.
Dr. Businger is a Professor of Meteorology at the Manoa Campus of the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. He has been working in the weather industry since 1978, wherein he started out as an Avalanche/Mountain Weather Forecaster for the U.S. Forest Service. Since that experience, Dr. Businger has been teaching meteorology across the country in both Assistant Professorship and Professorship positions.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences, a Master of Science in Astro-Geophysics and a Doctorate in Atmospheric Sciences. In addition, Dr. Businger maintains the Certified Consulting Meteorologist (C.C.M.) designation from the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

He has written numerous peer-review publications pertaining to technical meteorology and he has presented depositions and trial testimony in numerous cases since 1987.
Mr. Randy Dyer
Randy is a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief with worldwide service as a Meteorologist and Physical Oceanographer. He has over 40 years of diversified production experience in the field, having not only worked for the Navy, but also for the National Weather Service. He is presently working in a civilian billet for the U.S. Navy as the Lead Forecaster of their Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Region’s long range forecasting division.
